In the proposal to ILA to form a Followership Learning Community, one of the potential questions posed to the community was this:
How do we create the disciplinary linkages for introducing new, complementary models of responsible followership into all of the key culture-shaping activities that now focus on leadership development, including all levels of education, citizenship, government service, moral/religious training, security forces training, etc.?
What are your ideas for doing this generally or in a specific field? Please post ideas below here and notify the forum of new postings. - Ira Chaleff
Some of the key areas of interest in Followership research deal with the Leader-Follower relationship. This can get into the communication aspects, personality differences, conflict styles, job satisfaction, psychological distance, and life-balance among several other research topics. Much of this research exists under other umbrellas of leadership and workforce development. There is a strong followership tie to all of these. - Rodger Adair
